TBS Pathfinders SHARE BENEFITS OF TBS PATHFINDERS PROGRAM

I was deeply touched to be among such an amazing cadre when I was selected as a TBS Pathfinder. Watching the video segments shown about each individual award recipient at the ceremony was both inspirational and humbling. It was a tremendous honor for me personally to be in that number, and a great gift to have the story of the Oakhurst Community Garden told alongside theirs. And a privilege to be involved in the selection of the following year's recipients! TBS's sponsorship and organization of this program is a real service to our community-both for their financial support of the work of the honorees and for the great care and love that is obvious in every step of the process.

TBS spot lighting our work in the community was like getting a blank check on the future, words can not describe how thankful I am.TBS has given us power and credibility and has allowed us to help several hundred children. With the exposure from TBS other media outlets jumped on the band wagon such as USA Today,Black Enterprise and the AJC and all the local News stations has done feature story on Be Someone, and we acquired a sponsor, Matrix Resources and several small sponsors.A screen play and a movie is now being written because of TBS spot lighting our work in the community.

My wife and I had put our savings behind Be Someone, and just as we thought we were completely out of funds and could no longer continue, you came to the rescue. Thank you for being there when we needed it most.

There are so many things that being a TBS Pathfinder did to help our organization. I will just throw out some and you can edit, choose and mix whatever you want.

As a Pathfinder, TBS honored us in such a way that they took a unique and not much talked about area, eldercare, and made it their own. The sensitivity that was used as they told our story is something that gave our organization and our volunteers a boost. It allowed our staff and volunteers to feel even more pride in the work they do. Networking with the other Pathfinders was a perk that has ended up being magnificent as we are now working with or in contact with other Pathfinders who are meeting some of the same challenges we are. As a small non-profit, sometimes you feel so alone as you try to make lives better for others. Being a Pathfinder gave us the recognition we needed to feel we are not alone and others are out there that believe as passionately as we do about the cause we hold so dear.
